After long months of work, we are finally able to give you CDWinder 5.7 - a new version with lots of improvements and new features.

CDWinder now has detailed OpenStreetMap maps in its GeoFinder, also enabling it to geotag photos all by itself. Also, we have a new photo export feature, and lots of improvements under the hood, concerning stability and performance of cataloging and find operations.

A couple of weeks after the release of 5.6, we bring you CDWinder 5.6.1, mostly to address a couple of issues and introduce a few new features.

CDWinder has an improved Find function, that’s up to 20% faster than before. Also, CDWinder now remembers the last query you used, and the last path you cataloged. And the UNC handling and command line interface were improved.

Today, we released the new Locr Dropbox 1.0 for Windows !

This new stand-alone application for the Windows desktop allows you to upload your photos to the popular Locr geotagging community. It is built on the core technologies and a lot of know-how from our CDWinder development and is available for free here on our website and over at Locr. A similar tool is also available from our friends over at CDFinder.

In these past weeks we have been receiving many rave reviews for CDWinder and CDFinder, the response for version 5.1 was very encouraging. You can find some of them below for further reading. We have also had lots of feedback from you, our users, so we are very happy to present CDWinder 5.1.1 . We have been listening to most of your suggestions and observations, and were able to turn them into new features or needed improvements.

* QuickUpdate: Updating existing catalogs in CDWinder is now about 50 times faster than before, because CDWinder now keeps the unchanged meta-data around
* Vastly extended GPS geotag support: CDWinder can now also show the location of a photo in Flickr, Panoramio, Google Maps or MapQuest
* Find photos based on their GPS location and distance relative to another photo
* CDWinder now optionally generates a FileCheck value for every file, and allows you to verify that at any time. Important for photographers and everyone else who wants to ensure that their data is still alive and unchanged
